At Kirton Primary School, each year group is named after a different bird. As children move through the school, the birds become larger, stronger and more impressive — symbolising the pupils’ growing confidence, independence and maturity.

This whole-school theme builds identity, encourages teamwork and helps every child feel part of a shared learning journey.
