Photos from Kirton Primary School's post This morning, a group of our fantastic Year 4 children took part in the very first Indoor Bowls Development Day that took place at Boston Indoor Bowls Centre. It was an absolutely brilliant morning where we got to learn about how to play indoor bowls, skills and tricks to be successful and playing lots of different games that were really fun! We even got to meet an England Ladies professional bowler who led the event (who also happened to be the England Captain!) Everyone set a wonderful example of our school and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. We even earned a medal! Well done everybody who took part!

We explored different foods and used our senses to investigate a range of tastes, including sweet, sour, salty and bitter. We used our facial expressions and words to show whether we liked or disliked different tastes (with photos to prove it).
The children were fantastic at sharing their ideas, making observations and discovering that different foods can taste very different! What a fun and tasty way to develop our scientific understanding! 👅🧠✨ 10 Likes

Our Redpolls children love practising Dough Disco every day! ✨
As well as being lots of fun, it helps to strengthen the muscles in their hands and fingers, develop fine motor skills and improve hand-eye coordination. These skills are really important for developing pencil control and building the strength and dexterity needed for writing. ✏️📝

Starlings Class had an absolutely amazing time on their recent trip to Wild Woodcraft, stepping back into the Stone Age and putting their learning into practice!
The children had the opportunity to:
🏕️ Build their own shelters using Stone Age methods
🔥 Make their own fires
🐟 Cook fish over a campfire
🪨 Handle and explore artefacts made using authentic Stone Age techniques
It was fantastic to see the children working together, developing new practical skills and experiencing first-hand what life might have been like during the Stone Age.
There was plenty of teamwork, problem-solving, curiosity — and lots of fun! 14 Likes
